Bay’s Digital Advantage team, “WITT,” took first place in a Lancashire-wide competition to design an education app, winning £2000 for the school.

Digital Advantage is an enterprise initiative for 16-18 year olds, delivered in conjunction with the Lancashire Skills and Employment Hub and Digital Lancashire. As part of the programme, pupils benefitted from 20 hours of digital training and careers advice, delivered by industry experts through classroom-based learning and online resources. Their training culminated in a competition to design a digital project or service, and Bay’s pupils came up with the innovative idea of creating an app that caters for all of pupils’ homework and revision needs, with users only needing one login compared to the 3-5 logins currently required to access different revision services.

The £2000 prize money will help the pupils to fund the app and turn their vision into a reality.
