BUSINESS

Why study Business?

At Bay Leadership Academy we want our students to develop the knowledge and understanding of contemporary business issues; to build robust research and analytical skills to become a valued employee upon leaving education. At KS4 we study the BTEC L2 Enterprise course in Year 11 and Edexcel Business GCSE in Year 10 both courses are ideal for students wanting to understand how businesses work in context. They learn how to prepare for careers in business, to create financial documentation and decide upon promotional materials for their own business ideas.

How will I study Business?

Within our department we use current business news to bring the course to life. We discuss the impact of business and political decisions on the world to further develop students’ comprehension of the subject matter. Business and Enterprise at Bay Leadership Academy is taught with a focus on the local area. We investigate the economy at national and local level and the impact of employment rates, types of ownership and how the local environment impacts on the success of the town.
